Latent Insight

Do you ever get that feeling where you realize something — and then notice that you’ve actually known it for a long time? That you’d just been pushing it to the back of your head, for whatever reason?

At any given time, most of us have a handful of ripe insights waiting for us to notice them — but through some mixture of avoidance, repression, or simple unconsciousness, we just keep not noticing them.

Latent Insight is a practice for allowing these insights to surface, so you can start living them. (Or, very often, so you can notice that you’ve been avoiding them exactly so that you don’t have to live them — and then we can begin looking for the obvious reasons you’re braced against living them.)

The practice works on a mixture of somatic intelligence, open spatial awareness, and imaginal intuition. When these work together, they take you into a place where your whole being can be present, without constricting experience. (Many people refer to this place as “The Right Hemisphere” — I have some qualms about that label, but it’s helpful shorthand.)

The practice begins to work with even a small amount of those somatic, spatial, and intuitive capacities — and it deepens exponentially as those capacities increase.

In our first weeks, we’ll train the Latent Insight process, in journaling, then in solo awareness practice, then in dyad practice between us.

Once you’ve reached a baseline capacity, we’ll work more directly with the content of your life. We’ll use writing, practice, and conversation in this mode to explore what’s obvious in your life.

Please get in touch if you’re interested in starting, and please remember to read the Pricing and Commitment sections on the 1-on-1 page.
