Waytending details
I've done this offering informally for friends and people close to me here and there over the past couple years, but I want to practice it, improve it, and figure out how it works with a wider variety of people. So let's try this.
You
Open to experimentation with an emerging approach that doesn't have it's smooth edges yet.
Feel like there's an embodied myth, or a complex of them, that are holding you back in some way. You're willing to dive in and examine them and change them, and excited about the possibility of using more-than-conscious methods to do so.
You're even excited to try out some methods where you have no idea how they might work, but are willing to be surprised and find out they do in fact work.
It's not necessary that you have any experience with somatic/embodiment work, but it does help.
It's not necessary that you have any experience with imaginal work, but it does help.
You're excited about the prospect of having some take-home practices to bolster the efficacy of our work together.
This work is intuitive, we follow where your life force leads us. So you may come in with a specific issue you want to work on, but as we explore, we find that something else wants your attention more. The way this method works, we'll be giving the movements of life force higher priority than your conscious wishes — so if you're stepping into this container, that should sound reasonable and exciting to you.
The Work
I've used a lot of tools for this before, and I'll likely be trying out several of them with you, as feels intuitively correct. Some of these include:
Somatic exploration: deepening into open, embodied awareness, connecting with the qualities of that awareness, and using that as a treasure map to find markers of the myths that you live by — and to speak to them directly.
Imaginal journeying: shamanic and Jungian techniques for experiencing myths and archetypes with multi-sensory awareness, making yourself a screen for the inner world to project itself on while we navigate it together.
Ritual & symbolic action: the unconscious world works largely on symbol, image, and intention. We work together to design ways of using this in your favor.
Energy work: this will look like a thousand different things depending on the person and the situation; myths are, at core, the shape and direction that energy falls into as it's driven towards a goal. To re-shape the myth, we'll have to make that energy pliable and open to moving.
Physical practices: tied to the energy work above, there's likely to be certain physical and/or dietary practices that are useful for shifting things.
Mantra: I don't know why mantras work but they do seem to have long term effects, so we use them.
Art: both creating and appreciating; this is likely to be a later phase, we can talk about it then.
Other: a lot of stuff comes up in this type of work, some of which doesn't really code neatly onto our usual categories of inner work.
Logistics
4 meetings per month (an extra one if something really important comes up). Meetings tend to find a natural closing point after ~70-90 minutes.
Some voice note assistance as needed (WhatsApp is best)
Home practice, essential for the efficacy of the work. The offering here isn't "let's fix you up with one meeting per week," it's "let's help you explore your inner Self with expansiveness & precision - one tool for which is a weekly check-in, practice, and strategy session; but the other tools you carry on your own are more important to seeing actual effects."
You'll be given access to recordings, guided meditations, and other materials from my courses and previous work, as relevant.
Price: $950/month; financial aid and barter available in some cases.
